"Going Home"
An
old rail fence disappears quietly over the hill into the misty, moss-draped
oaks, the silence broken only by weary footsteps in the
gravel. $150.00 |
"Moss Bay"
From the morning mist, a pair of graceful wood ducks appear
swiftly and silently like jewels sewn into a tapestry of light and
landscape. $150.00 |
"Ryan Street"
A
historical image so compelling, the viewer is irresistibly drawn into this
wonderfully romantic and luminous street scene of the late Victorian
era. $150.00 |
"Aurore"
Dawn reveals the kaleidoscope of color and contrast, the
awakening of sights and sounds on Southern waters, where the bayous are full of
life. $150.00 |

"Morning Light - Great Blue
Heron"
In
a scene repeated all over Southern rivers and bayous, an elegant blue heron
sails effortlessly over the glassy surface of the water in a quiet cove. Early
autumn turns the cypress needles to a rich bronze and copper, accented with the
gray softness of delicate spanish moss. $150.00 |
"Bird's Camp"
This small camp on the Calcasieu River has a unique story.
Frank Bird, an educated man, left the business world and sought a simpler life
on the river. A converted houseboat, this camp is where he spent the rest of
his life, renting out boats. He died here alone at the age of 91, and I find it
sad that we never knew him. The camp is gone now, but we pass this place often
by boat and in a strange and lonely way, I feel his presence
there. $150.00 |

"Monarch of Cypress Flats"
In
an isolated Louisiana swamp called Cypress Flats, a pair of American Bald
Eagles chose to build their nest in an ancient, twisted old cypress tree that
towered high above the shallow waters. This magnificent avian symbol stirs in
all of us a renewal of faith in our country's strength and
freedom. $150.00 |
"Cowboys"
An
eloquent portrayal of a real working cowboy and his son, this pair is off to
the pastures on a cattle ranch in Louisiana. Rich shadows in the barn contrast
with the burnished light of early morning as they head for their
horses. $150.00 |

"River Mist"
A breathtaking vision of soft greens
with accents of pale, translucent yellow, this scene captures the essence
of morning mist along a riverbank. The eerie posturing of cypress knees
in deep shadows under ghostly moss-draped trees gives sharp contrast
to delicate lotus lilies thriving in the shallows. Almost invisible
in the fog, two fishermen enjoy the cool and quiet surroundings as they
test their luck.

"Broad & Ryan"
Lake Charles has a rich
and interesting history. Each building in the downtown area has a family story
of struggle, success or failure and many times a bit of all of these. The scene
depicted is circa 1915, when buggies were still the main transportation, cars
were a novelty and electric trolleys were a common sight. One can almost feel
the dampness of the rain-soaked brick streets and hear the rattle of the
streetcar as it lumbers its way down the tracks on Ryan Street.
